SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE WATER COLLECTING IN REAR COMPARTMENT.
MAY BE DUE TO GAPS OR VOIDS IN THE REAR WHEELHOUSE SEALING SEAMS, SEE FIGURE 1.
USE LOCALIZED WATER TEST OR AIR HOSE AND BUBBLE SOLUTION METHODS FOR DIAGNOSIS.
INSPECT THE REAR WHEELHOUSE SEAMS FOR GAPS OR VOIDS AND SEAL ANY OPEN AREAS WITH 3M P/N 08648, AMERICAN/DOMINION SURE SEAL P/N PBM (OR EQUIVALENT), USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:
1. OPEN DECK LID AND REPOSITION COMPARTMENT TRIM TO EXPOSE AND INSPECT WHEELHOUSE SEAMS FOR SIGNS OF LEAKS.
2. REMOVE REAR SPLASH SHIELD FROM WHEELHOUSE AND WATERTEST SEAM AREAS WITH AID OF HELPER WHILE INSPECTING SEAMS FOR WATER ENTRY.
3. RAISE VEHICLE ON HOIST AND DRY THE SUSPECT LEAK AREA USING COMPRESSED AIR.
4. APPLY SPECIFIED SEALING MATERIAL TO THE GAP OR VOID AREA AND PADDLE OR BRUSH SEALER INTO THE SEAM IF REQUIRED.
5. REINSTALL THE REAR SHIELD IN THE WHEELHOUSE.
6. LOWER VEHICLE AND REMOVE FROM HOIST.
