DEFINITION:
Battery Is Undercharged Or Overcharged.

- Disconnect the generator connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
- Attach a scan tool to the DLC.
- Clear any DTC.
- Select Misc. Tests, ENG Outputs, and GEN L Terminal.
- Command the generator ON.
- Use a digital multimeter to measure the voltage from the generator
connection circuit 225 to ground.
Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

- Check for a poor connection or an open in circuit 225.
- Service the PCM if circuit 225 is OK. Refer to Engine Controls.
- Recheck the system.

| Use a digital multimeter to measure the voltage from the generator BAT
terminal to ground.
Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

- Repair the open in circuit 2 to the generator BAT terminal.
- Recheck the system.
Is the system rechecked and is the repair complete?

- Reconnect the generator connector.
- Turn all the accessories off.
- Run the engine at a fast idle.
- Use a digital voltmeter to measure the voltage across the battery.
Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

- Replace the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.
- Recheck the system.
