  1. Disconnect the generator connector.
  2. Attach a fused jumper from the generator connector circuit 225 to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Is the charge indicator ON?

Check for poor connection at the generator terminal L.

Is the connection OK?

Replace the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.

Correct the connection at the generator terminal L.

Does the charge indicator operate correctly?

  1. Disconnect the connection from PCM C2.
  2. Attach a fused jumper from the PCM connector circuit 25 to ground.

Is the charge indicator ON?

Check the circuit 225 for an open or a poor connection.

Is circuit 225 OK?

Repair the circuit 225.

Does the charge indicator operate correctly?

Check the charge indicator bulb, circuit 39 and circuit 25 for an open or a poor connection.

Are they OK?

Service the instrument cluster. Refer to Section 8C.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the indicator bulb and correct the connections, or repair the open circuit.
