Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 73911  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement
  2. Remove the right inner fender electrical cover.
  3. Remove the power steering pump from the mounting bracket. Set the pump aside. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump in Steering, Suspension, Tires and Wheels.
  4. Loosen the generator bolts. Remove the bolt connecting the generator to the tensioner. Refer to Generator in Charging System.
  5. Remove the tensioner bolts.
  6. Remove the tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 73911  Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the generator bolt. Refer to Generator in Charging System.
  5. Install the power steering pump to the mounting bracket. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump in Steering, Suspension, Tires and Wheels.
  6. Install the inner fender electrical cover.
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement Accessory Drive Belt Replacement .
