J 35354 Seal Installer

1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .

Important: Be careful not to damage the crankshaft.

2. Pry out the seal with a suitable tool such as a large screwdriver. Use care in order to avoid damage to the seal bore or to the seal contact surfaces.
3. Inspect the crankshaft and front cover for scratches.

1. Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the seal in the front cover using the J 35354 . Use the crankshaft balancer bolt with tool.
3. Tighten the bolt until the seal is seated in the cover.
4. Remove the J 35354 .
5. Coat the outside seal surface of the crankshaft balancer with lubricant GM P/N 1050169 or equivalent.
6. Install the balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
7. Inspect for leaks.
