Removal Procedure
Tools Required

- Engine Mounts are the non-adjustable type and seldom require service.
Broken or deteriorated mounts should be replaced immediately, because of the
added strain placed on the other mounts and the driveline components.
- Raise the engine in order to remove the weight from the mounts
and in order to place a slight tension on the rubber. Observe both mounts
while raising the engine.
- Replace a powertrain mount if it exhibits one of the following
conditions:
• | Hard rubber surface covered with heat cracks |
• | Rubber separated from the metal plate of the mount |
• | Rubber split through the center |
• | Fluid leaking from hydraulic mounts |
- Remove the negative battery cable. Refer to
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.

- Install the engine mount to the mount bracket.
- Install the nuts connecting the engine mount to the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bracket to the engine.
- Install the bolts connecting the engine mount bracket to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 102 N·m (75 lb ft).
- Install the oil filter.
- Install the drip shield.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the J 28467-360
, the J 35953
