Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Outlet

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle suitably. Refer to General Information.

  3. Object Number: 54669  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the outlet hose from the oil cooler.
  5. Disconnect the outlet hose from the thermostat bypass pipe.
  6. Remove the outlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 54669  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet hose.
  2. Connect the outlet hose to the thermostat bypass pipe.
  3. Connect the outlet hose to the oil cooler.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Refill the coolant system. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.

Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Inlet

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle suitably. Refer to General Information.
  3. Place the drain pan under the engine in order to catch any fluids that may drain.
  4. Remove the oil filter.

  5. Object Number: 54424  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the inlet hose from the oil cooler.
  7. Disconnect the inlet hose from the block fitting.
  8. Remove the inlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 54424  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet hose.
  2. Connect the inlet hose to the block fitting.
  3. Connect the inlet hose to the oil cooler.
  4. Install the oil filter. Lubricate the seal with engine oil.
  5. Tighten
    Hand tighten the filter to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Refill the coolant system. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  8. Add engine oil as necessary.
  9. Inspect for leaks if necessary.
