Removal Procedure

- Remove the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
- Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to
Engine Mount Strut Replacement

- Remove the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
- Install the J 28467-360
, the J 28467-90
,
the J 35953
, and the J 36462
.
Notice: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert
a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil
pan and the jack support.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
- Remove the front exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust System.
- Remove the intermediate steering shaft bolt and move the cover
aside. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump On-Vehicle Service.
- Drain the engine oil.
- Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
- Suitably support the frame with floor stands.
- Remove the transaxle mount frame side bracket nuts from the frame.
Refer to Automatic transaxle.
- Remove the nuts.
- Remove the rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts. Refer
to Body Dimensions and Underbody.
- Lower the drivetrain and front suspension frame
- Remove the engine mount nuts from the engine mount bracket. Refer
to Body Dimensions and Underbody.
- Remove the engine mount.
- Remove the bracket.
Installation Procedure

- Connect the engine mount bracket to the oil pan.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Position the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
- Install the engine mount nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Raise the frame.
- Install the rear drivetrain and the front suspension frame bolts/screws.
Refer to Body Dimensions and Underbody.
- Install the nuts to the frame.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).
- Install the transaxle mount frame side bracket nuts to the frame.
Refer to Automatic Transaxle.
- Remove the floor stands from the frame.
- Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
- Install the intermediate steering shaft bolt screw and cover.
Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump On-Vehicle Service.
- Connect the front exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust System.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the J 28467-360

- Install the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Exhaust System.
- Install the engine mount strut. Refer to
Engine Mount Strut Replacement
.
- Install the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
- Refill with engine oil.
