Engine Mount Bracket Replacement Left Side

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification
  1. Remove the hood panel assembly. Refer to Body Front End.
  2. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the electric engine cooling fan assemblies. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  5. Install the J 28467-360 .
  6. Install the J 28467-90 .
  7. Install the J 36462 .
  8. Install the J 35953 .
  9. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  10. Disconnect the engine oil cooler hose from the 3-way connector at the oil cooler. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .

  12. Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  13. Remove the engine cooling fans. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  14. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts. Refer to HVAC.
  15. Hang the A/C compressor aside.
  16. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  17. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  18. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  19. Remove the rear A/C compressor bracket. Refer to HVAC.

  21. Remove the engine mount nuts at the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  22. Lower the vehicle.
  23. Raise the engine assembly approximately one inch.
  24. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.

  25. Object Number: 58482  Size: SH
  26. Remove the engine mount bracket bolts at the engine block.
  27. Remove the wiring clips and the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification

    Notice: Reinstall the silver-finished front engine mount bracket bolt. Failure to reinstall the bolt results in excessive loads being placed on the tow side bracket bolts. This could cause the side bolts to separate from the engine block.

  1. Install the engine mount bracket.

  2. Object Number: 58482  Size: SH
  3. Install the engine mount bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the front engine mount bracket bolts to 103 N·m (76 lb ft).
        • Tighten the side engine mount bracket bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Lower the engine.
  7. Remove the J 28467-360 .
  8. Remove the J 28467-90 .
  9. Remove the J 36462 .
  10. Remove the J 35953 .
  11. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  12. Install the engine mount nuts on the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  13. Install the rear A/C compressor bracket. Refer to HVAC.
  14. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  15. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Position the A/C compressor. Refer to HVAC.
  18. Install the cooling fans. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  19. Install the cooling fan bolts.

  21. Install the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  22. Connect the engine oil cooler hose to the oil cooler. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  23. Install the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  24. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  25. Refill the coolant. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  26. Install the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  27. Install the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.

Engine Mount Bracket Replacement Right Side

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification
  1. Remove the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
  2. Remove the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  3. Install the J 28467-360 .
  4. Install the J 28467-90 .
  5. Install the J 36462 .
  6. Install the J 35953 .
  7. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  8. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  9. Remove the generator. Refer to Charging System.
  10. Remove the rear generator pencil brace. Refer to Charging System.
  11. Remove the generator mounting bracket. Refer to Charging System.
  12. Remove the engine mount nuts at the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Raise the engine.
  15. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.

  17. Remove the transaxle bracket retaining bolts at the transaxle.
  18. Remove the engine mount bracket retaining bolts at the engine.
  19. Remove the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 57217  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear engine mount bracket.
  2. Install the bracket to engine retaining bolts.
  3. Tighten

    1. Tighten the side of the block engine retaining bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the front of the block engine retaining bolts to 102 N·m (75 lb ft)

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   4. Install the transaxle retaining bolts on the rear engine mount bracket.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle retaining bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the J 28467-360 .
  8. Remove the J 28467-90 .
  9. Remove the J 36462 .
  10. Remove the J 35953 .
  11. Lower the engine.
  12. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  13. Install the rear engine mount nuts on the rear engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  14. Install the generator mounting bracket. Refer to Charging System.
  15. Install the generator pencil brace. Do not tighten the pencil brace.
  16. Install the generator. Refer to Charging System.
  17. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  18. Lower the vehicle.
  19. Install the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Cooling and Radiator.
  20. Install the hood panel. Refer to Body Front End.
