The spark plug wire harness is an aramid fiber or similar cord conductor. The L36 and the L67 are both encased in a silicone rubber jacket. The silicone jacket is an excellent insulator for the high voltage of the ignition system. Silicone spark plug boots form a tight seal over the spark plugs.

The spark plug wire boots are permanently lubricated with FHC grease. The grease prevents the boots from sticking to the plug ceramic and greatly eases in plug service. Do not add silicone based lubricants to the plugs as this may cause carbon tracking.
