Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
- Remove the TP sensor electrical connector (3) from the TP sensor (2).
- Remove the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
- Remove the two TP sensor mounting bolts (4) from the TP sensor (5).
- Remove the TP sensor (5) from the throttle body (7).
- Remove the O-ring (6) from the TP sensor (5).
- Discard the O-ring.
Installation Procedure
- Install the new O-ring (6) on to the TP sensor (5).
- Install the TP sensor (5) on to the throttle body (7).
- Install the two (4) TP sensor screws.
- Install the TP sensor electrical connector (3) to the TP sensor (2).
- Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
- Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
