Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the screws retaining the rear compartment lid trim.
- Remove the rear compartment lid trim.
- Reach through the access opening on the underside of the rear compartment lid and depress the license lamp retainers to release.
- Carefully push the license lamp out from the rear compartment lid.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the license lamp.
- Release the license lamp lens retaining tabs, then carefully remove the lens from the license lamp base, if replacing the bulb.
- Remove the bulb from the lamp base socket, if replacing the bulb.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulb to the lamp base socket, if removed.
- Align the license lamp lens to the license lamp base, then carefully press to secure the retaining tabs, if removed.
- Connect the electrical connector to the license lamp.
- Align the license lamp assembly to the opening in the rear compartment lid, then press to secure the retaining tabs.
- Install the rear compartment lid trim to the rear compartment lid.
- Install the rear compartment lid trim retaining screws.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid trim retaining screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
