High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement Spoiler Mounted
Removal Procedure
- Remove the screws retaining the high-mounted
stoplamp to the rear end spoiler.
- Remove the high-mounted stoplamp from the spoiler.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the high-mounted stoplamp
assembly.
- Remove the screws retaining the bulb
socket bar to the stoplamp housing, if replacing any bulbs.
- Remove the bulb socket bar from the lamp housing, if replacing
any bulbs.
- Remove the bulb(s) from the socket(s), if replacing any bulbs.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulb(s) to the bulb socket(s),
if removed.
- Install the bulb socket bar to the high-mounted stoplamp housing,
if removed.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bulb socket bar to stoplamp
housing retaining screws, if removed.
Tighten
Tighten the high-mounted stoplamp bulb socket bar to high-mounted stoplamp
housing retaining screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the
high-mounted stoplamp assembly.
- Carefully install the high-mounted stoplamp to the rear end spoiler.
- Install the high-mounted stoplamp to rear end spoiler retaining
screws.
Tighten
Tighten the high-mounted stoplamp to rear end spoiler retaining screws
to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
