Repair a short to ground in circuit 539.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN.
  2. Using a test light, backprobe between hazard warning switch connection terminal C and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Repair a poor or an open connection in circuit 539, between the fuse block terminal D2 and the hazard warning switch connector terminal C.

Has the repair been made?

--

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

  1. Place the turn signal switch in either the TURN LEFT or TURN RIGHT position.
  2. Using a test light, backprobe between the hazard warning switch harness connector terminal H and ground.

Does the test light flash?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

  1. Check for a poor connection or an open in circuit 16.
  2. If OK, replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
