- Make sure the I/P dimmer switch is off.
- Turn the ignition switch on.
- Lower the driver's window (to prevent lockout).
- Close all vehicle doors.
- While observing the courtesy lamps, open then close the driver's
door.
Did the courtesy lamps turn on with the driver's door open?

- Make sure the I/P dimmer switch is off, and all the vehicle doors
closed.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- While observing the courtesy lamps, remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Did the courtesy lamps turn on upon removing the key from the ignition

- Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition switch on.
- Using scan tool, monitor the key in switch input.
Does the scan tool indicate the key in input active with the key in
the ignition switch?

- Place the key in the ignition cylinder.
- Make sure the ignition switch is off.
- Open, then close the driver's door.

- Disconnect BCM connector C1.
- Using a test lamp, connect between B+ and the BCM connector C1
