Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

  1. Remove the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Raise and suitably support the front of the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the front fender liner to front bumper fascia screws.
  5. Remove the front bumper fascia to front fender bolts.

  7. Remove the front bumper fascia to radiator air baffle bolts.

  8. Object Number: 364795  Size: SH
  9. Use the J 38778 to remove the front bumper fascia lower support push-in retainers.

  10. Object Number: 364782  Size: SH
  11. Remove the front bumper fascia upper support bolt.

  12. Object Number: 364785  Size: SH
  13. Use the J 38778 to remove the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support push-in retainers.

  14. Object Number: 364775  Size: SH
  15. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front bumper fascia to the vehicle

  2. Object Number: 364785  Size: SH
  3. Install the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support push-in retainers.

  4. Object Number: 364782  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the front bumper fascia upper support bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia upper support bolt to 2 N·m(18 lb in).

  7. Install the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia lower support push-in retainers.

  8. Object Number: 364793  Size: SH
  9. Install the front bumper fascia to radiator air baffle bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia to radiator air baffle bolts to 2 N·m(18 lb in).


    Object Number: 364802  Size: SH
  11. Install the front bumper fascia to front fender bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper fascia to front fender bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Install the front fender liner to front bumper fascia screws.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender liner to front bumper fascia screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  15. Install the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  16. Remove protective tape installed prior to component removal.
  17. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  18. Lower the vehicle.
