Automatic Door Locks - Lock Inoperative Both Switches

Was the Automatic Door Locks Diagnostic System Check performed?

(Confirm malfunction is not due to the normal operation of the lockout prevention or delayed locking).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) connector C1.
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C1 terminal D12 and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the LF or RF door lock switch.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C1 terminal D12 and either LF or RF door lock switch harness connector terminal C (LF) or terminal B (RH).

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Less than 2ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair short to ground in circuit 780.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

  1. Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement for BCM replacement procedures.
  2. After BCM replacement, perform the Setup New BCM procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 780.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Reinstall connectors/components removed.

Is the action complete?

(Make sure malfunction is not a result of the normal operation of the lockout prevention feature or the delayed locking feature).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock switch.
  3. Using a DMM, connect between door lock switch terminals (switch side):
  4. • Driver's side door lock switch: C and F.
    • Passenger side door lock switch: B and F.
  5. While measuring the resistance using DMM, press lock on the door lock switch.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Lock Position:

Less than 2ohms

Released:

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement in Doors.
