J 38778 Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the inside door handle bezel.
2. Remove the trim panel screw behind the bezel.
3. Remove the front door power window switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .



4. Remove the trim panel screws.
5. Remove the trim panel using J 38778 .
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Remove the trim panel.

Important: Discard the old door trim panel retainers and replace with new retainers before installing the trim panel.

1. Install new trim panel retainers to the door trim panel.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Align the door trim panel retainers to the door.
4. Press the door trim panel at the retainer locations until the retainers are fully seated.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

5. Install the trim panel screws.

Tighten
Tighten the door trim panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

6. Install the trim panel screw behind the bezel.

Tighten
Tighten the door trim panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

7. Install the inside door handle bezel.

Tighten
Tighten the inside door handle bezel screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

8. Install the front door power window switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .
