Removal Procedure

  1. Open the fuel filler door.

  2. Object Number: 183178  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  4. Remove the bolts from the fuel filler pocket at the fuel filler neck.

  5. Object Number: 183175  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nut from the fuel filler door actuator cable.
  7. Remove the fuel filler door actuator cable from the fuel filler pocket.
  8. Apply tape to the opening around the top of the fuel filler pocket.

  9. Object Number: 183207  Size: SH
  10. Remove the fuel filler pocket using a small flat-bladed tool.
  11. Press down and out from the top edge of the fuel filler pocket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel filler door actuator cable to the fuel filler pocket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut to the fuel filler door actuator cable.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filler door actuator cable nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck.
  6. Press in until fully seated.
  7. Install the bolts/screws to the fuel filler pocket.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filler neck bolts/screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  9. Replace the fuel filler cap.
  10. Close the fuel filler door.
