Removal Procedure
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the lock striker to the rear compartment for its location at installation.

    5. Object Number: 182261 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts from the rear compartment lid lock striker in the rear compartment.
  6. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts from under the rear bumper fascia.
  8. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker from the rear body panel.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the rear compartment lid lock striker to the rear compartment body panel.

    2. Object Number: 182261 Size: SH
  2. Install the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts to the rear body panel.
  3. Tighten rear compartment lid lock striker bolts part way allowing for adjustment of rear compartment lid lock striker.
  4. Close the rear compartment to set adjustment of compartment lid.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts under the rear bumper fascia.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

    Important:  Due to sealer squeeze out on rear compartment lid lock striker bolts/screws, recheck fastener tightening specifications at least two times.

  6. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker lock striker bolt in rear compartment.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement .
  9. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  10. Close the rear compartment.
