Subject: | Fog Lamp Usage in Parade Mode |
Models: | 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue |
When diagnosing an inoperative fog lamp condition, verify that the owner is not trying to operate the lamps in the Parade Mode. The fog lamps are not designed to operate in the Parade Mode. Parade Mode occurs when the headlamps are in the ON position and the instrument panel brightness control is rotated to maximum brightness.
There is some confusion between the Owner's Manual, P/N 22600386 A (English) or P/N 52368380 (French) and production vehicles. The vehicle wiring was changed after the start of production for the 1999 model year and Campaign 98069 was issued to change the wiring in early 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue vehicles. The second edition of the Owner's Manual, P/N 22600386 B - (English) was revised to reflect this change. The part number can be found on page ii of the Manual.
For vehicles with VIN breakpoints between XF300360 and XF327106, complete Campaign 98069. Provide the owner with the revised page, found at the end of this bulletin, for their Owner's Manual. Insert the new page between pages 2-38 and 2-39 (English) or pages 2-41 and 2-42 (French) of the Owner's Manual. Make sure the owner is aware that this new information has been added to their Owner's Manual.
For vehicles with VIN breakpoints higher than XF327106 and with a first edition Owner's Manual P/N 22600386 A (English) or P/N 52368380 (French), provide the owner with the revised page, found at the end of this bulletin, for their Owner's Manual. Insert the new page between pages 2-38 and 2-39 (English) or pages 2-41 and 2-42 (French) of the Owner's Manual. Make sure the owner is aware that this new information has been added to their Owner's Manual.
For all other vehicles, if the Owner's Manual is printed in English, refer the owner to pages 2-38 and 2-39 in their Owner's Manual. If the Owner's Manual was printed in French, give them a copy of the French supplement at the end of this bulletin.
