- Remove the generator.
Installation Procedure
- Position the generator to the engine.
- Install the generator output BAT terminal
wire to the generator.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the generator output BAT terminal nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the protective boot to the generator output BAT terminal.
- Connect the electrical connector to the generator.
- Install the outboard generator bolt into
the generator housing.
- Install the generator on the inboard generator bolt and finger
tighten the outboard bolt.
- Install the idler pulley and idler pulley bolt.
- Tighten the bolts in the order described. The following is a mandatory
torque sequence:
9.1. | The idler pulley bolt. |
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
9.2. | The inboard and outboard generator bolts. |
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
