Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument
panel (I/P) steering column opening filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Remove the screws from the switch bezel.
- Pull the switch bezel from the I/P trim pad.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disengage the switch retainers. Remove the I/P lamp dimmer switch,
the fog lamp switch , and the rear compartment lid release switch from the
switch bezel, as required.
Installation Procedure
- Install the I/P lamp dimmer
switch, the fog lamp switch, and the rear compartment lid release switch to
the switch bezel, as required.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Align the switch bezel to the I/P trim pad.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the switch bezel screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the I/P steering column opening filler. Refer to
