Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the engine oil drain plug in order to drain the engine oil.
  3. Disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 235247  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt from the oil level sensor.
  6. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine oil level sensor to the oil pan.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine oil level sensor bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the engine oil drain plug.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil drain plug to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Fill the engine with new engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
  10. Start the engine and inspect for oil leaks.
