Removal Procedure
- Remove the coolant surge
tank and reposition. Refer to
Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Loosen the shut-off valve bracket fasteners (3).

Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the shut-off valve
outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).

vehicle.
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces as necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the AIR manifold (4)
to the outlet pipe and the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the AIR manifold bolts (4).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the shut-off valve
outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the shut-off valve
bracket fasteners (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to
