Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 601168  Size: SH
  1. Remove the coolant surge tank and reposition. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Loosen the shut-off valve bracket fasteners (3).
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  4. Object Number: 601160  Size: SH
  5. Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).

  6. Object Number: 601148  Size: SH
  7. Remove the AIR manifold bolts (4).
  8. Remove the AIR manifold (3) from the outlet pipe and the vehicle.
  9. Clean the gasket mating surfaces as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 601148  Size: SH
  1. Install the AIR manifold (4) to the outlet pipe and the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the AIR manifold bolts (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 601168  Size: SH
  9. Install the shut-off valve bracket fasteners (3).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.
