Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 650766  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
  2. Compress the clamp from the secondary air injection (AIR) shut-off valve bank 2 hose (1).
  3. Compress the clamp from the AIR shut-off valve bank 1 hose (1).
  4. Compress the pinch clamp and remove the outlet hose from the pump.

  6. Remove the AIR crossover pipe bolts (3).
  7. Remove the AIR crossover pipe (4) from the AIR shut-off valves.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 601190  Size: SH
  1. Install the AIR crossover pipe (4) to the AIR shut-off valves.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the AIR crossover pipe bolts (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the AIR outlet hose and the clamp to the AIR pump.
  6. Install the clamp to the AIR shut-off valve bank 1 hose (1).

  8. Install the clamp to the AIR shut-off valve bank 2 hose (1).
  9. Install the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
