Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the coolant surge tank and reposition. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 650768  Size: SH
  3. Remove the power steering hose to the shut-off valve bracket bolt.
  4. Remove the shut-off valve to the outlet pipe fasteners.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  7. Object Number: 601160  Size: SH
  8. Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
  9. Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe (1).
  10. Clean the gasket surfaces as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 601160  Size: SH
  1. Install the shut-off valve outlet pipe (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 650768  Size: SH
  8. Install the shut-off valve to outlet pipe fasteners.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Install the power steering hose to the shut-off valve bracket bolt.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.
