Removal Procedure
- Remove the coolant surge tank and reposition. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the power steering hose to the shut-off valve bracket bolt.
- Remove the shut-off valve to the outlet pipe fasteners.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
- Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe (1).
- Clean the gasket surfaces as necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the shut-off valve outlet pipe (1).
- Install the shut-off valve outlet pipe bolt and the nut (2).
- Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the shut-off valve to outlet pipe fasteners.
- Install the power steering hose to the shut-off valve bracket bolt.
- Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement in Engine Cooling.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
