Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer
to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the left inner rear fender liner. Refer to
Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent valve attaching
screw (2) and lower the assembly.
- Disconnect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (1).
- Remove the vent hose (3) from the EVAP vent valve.
- Remove the EVAP vent valve from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the EVAP vent valve on to the
bracket.
- Install the vent hose (3) to the EVAP vent valve.
- Connect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (1).
- Install the EVAP canister vent valve assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the EVAP canister vent valve bracket screw.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the left inner rear fender liner. Refer to
Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Lower the vehicle.
