Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the vacuum tank. Refer to Vacuum Tank Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.

  3. Object Number: 508311  Size: SH

    Important: Position the heater core cover downward and rearward in order to disconnect the cover from the rear area floor duct assembly.

  4. Remove the screws from the heater core outlet cover.
  5. Remove the heater core outlet cover.
  6. Disconnect the defroster/vent door link at the vent door on the left side of the HVAC module assembly.

  7. Object Number: 295349  Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws from the heater core cover.
  9. Remove the heater core cover.

  10. Object Number: 607149  Size: SH
  11. Remove the vent door (1) to the HVAC module assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 607149  Size: SH
  1. Install the vent door (1) to the HVAC module assembly.

  2. Object Number: 295349  Size: SH
  3. Install the heater core cover.
  4. Install the heater core cover screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the cover screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  6. Install the heater core outlet cover.
  7. Install the screws to the heater core outlet cover.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  9. Connect the defroster/vent door link at the vent door on the left side of the HVAC module assembly.
  10. Install the vacuum tank. Refer to Vacuum Tank Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.
  11. Install the IP trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
