Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 523789 Size: SH
  1. Remove the front seatfrom the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat belt buckle. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.
  4. Disconnect the J-hook retainers from the front seatcushion and pull the front seat cushion cover open to expose the seat framehinge.

  5. Disconnect the J-hookretainers at the rear of the front seat cushion and pull open the front seatcushion cover to expose the seat frame hinge.

    6. Object Number: 523811 Size: SH
  6. Remove the front seatback recliner roll pins from the seat back hinge.

    7. Object Number: 523812 Size: SH
  7. Remove the front seatback bolts from the seat back hinge.

    8. Object Number: 523815 Size: SH
  8. Lift up the front seatback and set it down on the front seat cushion.

    9. Object Number: 523813 Size: SH

    Important: Before removing cables and wire harness, make note of their position.

  9. Pull out the lumbar cable and the heated seat harness from the front seat cushion frame area.
  10. Remove the front seat back.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the front seatback on the front seat cushion.

    2. Object Number: 523813 Size: SH
  2. Route the lumbar cable and heated seat cable to the front seat cushion/frame area.

    3. Object Number: 787089 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front seat back bolts (1) to the seat back hinge.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install new front seat back recliner roll pins to the seat back hinge.

    5. Object Number: 523832 Size: SH
  5. Connect the J-hook retainers at the rear of the front seat cushion.

    6. Object Number: 523789 Size: SH
  6. Connect the J-hook retainers at each end of the front seat cushion.
  7. Install the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the seat belt buckle. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.
  9. Inspect the front seat back for proper operation.
  10. Install the front seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
