Sunroof Switch Replacement w/o Overhead Console

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 317112  Size: SH
  1. Grasp the switch on the left and right sides.
  2. Important: Rotate the sunroof switch, pulled down on the left side, prior to removal.

  3. Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to disengage the clips which are located at the front and rear of the switch. Hold the flat-bladed tool parallel to the roof and push straight in. Rotate the sunroof switch toward the left side in order to disengage it from the mounting bracket and pull down.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof switch.
  5. Remove the sunroof switch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connector to the sunroof switch.
  2. Align the sunroof switch to the sunroof module.
  3. Rotate the sunroof switch toward the right side in order to engage it to the mounting bracket.
  4. Apply pressure to the sunroof switch until fully seated.

Sunroof Switch Replacement with OverheadConsole

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Lift up on the front of the electrical harness connector and remove the connector from the switch by sliding the connector forward, past the stop.

  3. Object Number: 784261  Size: SH
  4. Remove the retaining screws which secure the sunroof switch (1) to the console.

  5. Object Number: 784395  Size: SH
  6. Remove the sunroof switch (1) from the overhead console (2).

  7. Object Number: 784397  Size: SH
  8. Separate the sunroof switch bracket (2) from the switch (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sunroof switch (1) in the bracket (2).

  2. Object Number: 784261  Size: SH
  3. Position the switch bracket in the overhead console.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the sunroof switch screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Position the electrical harness connector on the switch bracket (1) and slide rearward until the connector locks in place at the stop.
  8. Install the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement in Interior Trim.
