Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 678337  Size: SH
  1. Open the assist strap covers using a small flat-bladed tool.
  2. Remove the screws from the assist strap.

  3. Object Number: 678338  Size: SH
  4. Remove the assist strap.

  5. Object Number: 678340  Size: SH

    Important: The side rail lamp base plate plastic retainers might drop out. Note the location of the retainers.

  6. Remove the side rail lamp bezel from the roof.
  7. Slide the side rail lamp socket from the bezel.

  9. Remove the bulb.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb.

  2. Object Number: 678340  Size: SH
  3. Slide the side rail lamp socket to the bezel.
  4. Position the side rail lamp bezel to the roof.

  5. Object Number: 678338  Size: SH
  6. Position the assist strap to the bezel.

  7. Object Number: 678337  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the side rail lamp assist handle screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Close the assist strap covers by pressing into place until fully seated.
