Low Radio Speaker Volume, Equalizer is Inoperative (Repair Wiring Harness)

Some customers may comment that the radio equalizer functions are inoperable and/or the speaker volumes are less than expected (low).

This condition may be caused by the external ground in the vehicle's wiring harness to the radio.

DO NOT REPLACE THE RADIO.

1. Remove the radio from the dash.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the radio.
3. Locate connector 1, the grey 24 way connector at the back of the radio.
4. Remove or cut and tape back the wire in cavity B6 of connector 1, the black/white stripe ground wire.
5. Reconnect all radio electrical connectors.
6. Reinstall the radio.

For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:
