Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement VIN 1

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 48488  Size: SH
  1. Remove the supercharger belt.
  2. Remove the ignition module.

  3. Object Number: 45487  Size: SH
  4. Remove the tensioner bolts.
  5. Remove the tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 45487  Size: SH
  1. Install the tensioner.
  2. Install the tensioner bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the ignition module.

  6. Install the supercharger belt.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Remove the front lower splash shield.
  4. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  5. Close the radiator drain cock.
  6. Install the front splash shield.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belts Replacement .
  9. Remove the generator. Refer to Engine Electrical.
  10. Remove the heater hoses. Refer to HVAC.

  12. Remove the tensioner bolts.
  13. Remove the tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 41363  Size: SH
  1. Install the tensioner.
  2. Install the tensioner bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the heater hoses.
  5. Install the generator. Refer to Engine Electrical.
  6. Install the accessory drive belt.
  7. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  8. Install the negative battery cable.
