Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement Floorshift: Oldsmobile

1. Remove the cable from the transmission manual shaft lever and the bracket on the transmission.



2. Remove the shift handle from the shifter.
3. Remove the following components:

•	The console trim

•	The storage box

•	The courtesy light and the console, as necessary




4. Remove the shift control cable retaining clips.
5. Remove the shift control cable at the console.
6. Remove the left sound insulator.
7. Pull the carpet back in order to expose the cable.
8. Remove the cable assembly through the hole in the cowl.

1. Properly route and position the cable.
2. Install the carpet into position.
3. Install the left sound insulator.



4. Install the shift control cable at the console.
5. Install the cable retaining clips.
6. Install the following components as necessary:

•	The console

•	The courtesy light

•	The storange box

•	The console trim




7. Install the shift handle at the shifter.



8. Install the shift control cable at the transmission lever and the bracket.
9. Adjust the cable as previously described.

1. Remove the cable from the transmission manual shaft lever and the bracket on the transmission.

7. Pull the carpet back in order to expose the cable.
8. Remove the cable assembly through the hole in the cowl.

1. Properly route and position the cable.
2. Install the carpet into position.
3. Install the left sound insulator.



4. Install the shift control cable at the console.
5. Install the cable retaining clips.
6. Install the following components as necessary:

•	The console

•	The courtesy light

•	The storage box

•	The console trim




7. Install the shift handle at the shifter.



8. Install the shift control cable at the transmission lever and the bracket.
9. Adjust the cable as previously described.
