Removal Procedure
Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a
hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
- Raise the
vehicle.
- Remove the rear license plate in order to gain access to the evaporative
emission (EVAP) canister.
- Mark the hoses for installation on the canister.
- Remove the EVAP vent solenoid.
- Remove the EVAP purge quick connect hose (6).
- Remove the fuel tank vapor hose (5).
- Remove the canister (1) from the mounting bracket by removing
2 retaining bolts (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the EVAP canister assembly into the vehicle.
- Install the EVAP canister retaining bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister retaining bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the fuel tank vapor hose (5) to the canister.
- Install the EVAP purge hose (6) to the canister.
- Install the EVAP vent solenoid (4) to the mounting bracket.
- Install the rear license plate.
- Lower the vehicle.
