Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear license plate in order to gain access to the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister.

  3. Object Number: 626251  Size: SH
  4. Mark the hoses for installation on the canister.
  5. Remove the EVAP vent solenoid.
  6. Remove the EVAP purge quick connect hose (6).
  7. Remove the fuel tank vapor hose (5).
  8. Remove the canister (1) from the mounting bracket by removing 2 retaining bolts (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 626251  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister assembly into the vehicle.
  2. Install the EVAP canister retaining bolts (2).
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister retaining bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the fuel tank vapor hose (5) to the canister.
  5. Install the EVAP purge hose (6) to the canister.
  6. Install the EVAP vent solenoid (4) to the mounting bracket.
  7. Install the rear license plate.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
