Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine dress cover (2).
- Remove the upper plastic wiper arm cowl (1).
- Remove the center plastic wiper arm cowl.
- Remove the TP sensor electrical connector from the TP sensor.
- Remove the throttle position (TP) sensor mounting bolts (3) from the TP sensor.
- Remove the TP sensor (2) from the throttle body.
- Discard the O-ring.
Installation Procedure
- Install the new O-ring on to the TP sensor.
- Install the TP sensor (2) on to the throttle body.
- Install the TP sensor electrical connector to the TP sensor (2).
- Ensure the throttle blade is at rest.
- Turn the key ON.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Turn the key to OFF.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Install the center plastic wiper arm cowl.
- Install the upper plastic wiper arm.
- Install the engine dress cover (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
Important: Ensure nothing is touching or obstructing the accelerator or brake pedals during the following TP Sensor Learn Procedure.
