Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Adapter
    • J 28467-200 Engine Support Adapter
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

    in General Information.
  2. Remove the engine torque strut from the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  3. Install the J 28467-360 ,J 28467-90 and the J 28467-200 .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  5. Remove the rear transaxle mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
  6. Remove the bracket. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Lower the rear of the engine using the J 28467-360 ,J 28467-90 and the J 28467-200 to obtain clearance between the forward servo cover and the frame.
  9. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  10. • Place the drain pan under the vehicle to catch any fluid.

  11. Remove the servo cover screws (12).
  12. Remove the servo cover (13).
  13. Remove the servo (14-21).
  14. • When disassembling the servo piston, refer to Case Components Disassemble .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the servo (14-21).
  2. Install the servo cover (13).
  3. Install the servo screws (12).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt/screw to the 11 N·m (97 lbN·min).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Raise the rear of the engine using the J 28467-360 ,J 28467-90 and the J 28467-200 .
  7. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  8. Install the rear transaxle mount. Refer to the Transmission Mount Replacement .
  9. Install the bracket. Refer to the Transmission Mount Replacement
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the J 28467-360 ,J 28467-90 and the J 28467-200 .
  12. Install the engine torque strut to the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery in Engine Electrical.
  14. Adjust the fluid level.

Inspection

    14.1. Inspect the proper completion of repairs.
  1. Inspect the proper fluid level. Refer to the Transmission Fluid Check in General Information.
  2. Inspect the fluid leaks. Refer to the Fluid Leak Diagnosis and Repair in General Information.
