Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the extension housing. Refer to Case Extension Housing Disassemble .

    2. Object Number: 97409 Size: SH
  2. Remove the thrust bearing and the thrust washer.

    3. Object Number: 97411 Size: SH
  3. Remove the final drive.
  4. Disassemble the final drive. Refer to Case Components Disassemble .
  5. Assemble the final drive. Refer to Case Components Assemble .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 97411 Size: SH
  1. Install the final drive.

    2. Object Number: 97409 Size: SH
  2. Install the thrust washer and the thrust bearing.
  3. Install the extension housing. Refer to Case Extension Housing Disassemble .
  4. Measure the end play. Refer to Case Assembly Inspection .
  5. Adjust the fluid level.
  6. Inspect for the following:
    7. • Proper completion of repairs
    • Proper fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
    • Fluid leaks. Refer to Fluid Leak Diagnosis and Repair .
