Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the oil pump and the oil pump driveshaft. Refer to Oil Pump Removal .
  3. Inspect the oil pump driveshaft at both ends for rounding of the corners.
  4. Inspect the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Disassemble , Oil Pump Clean and Inspect and Oil Pump Assemble .

Installation Procedure

    Important: Rotate the oil pump driveshaft as necessary in order to obtain the engagement with the oil pump drive.

  1. Install the oil pump driveshaft and the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Installation .
  2. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
