Removal Procedure
Caution: Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly
could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal
injury:
• | Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing
the bulb. |
• | Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete. |
• | Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb. |
• | Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass. |
• | Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb. |
• | Properly dispose of the used bulb. |
• | Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children. |
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the front tires. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the front fender liners. Refer to
Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the outer fog lamp
screw.
- Remove the inner fog lamp
screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp.
- Remove the fog lamp assembly from the vehicle.
- UseJ 38778
in order to remove the push-in retainers
that retain the fog lamp to the fog lamp bracket.
- In order to remove the
fog lamp bulb from the fog lamp, turn the fog lamp bulb counterclockwise.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fog lamp bulb
to the fog lamp.
- Align the fog lamp to
the fog lamp bracket .
- Install the push-in retainers to the fog lamp bracket.
- align the fog lamp assembly
to the front bumper fascia.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws that retain the fog lamp to the front bumper
fascia.
Tighten
Tighten the fog lamp to front bumper fascia screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Install the electrical connector to the fog lamp.
- Install the outer fog
lamp screw.
Tighten
Tighten the outer fog lamp screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the front fender liners. Refer to
Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the tires. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.

- Remove the front bumper fascia to front fender liner screws and position
the front fender liner aside.
- Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connector from the fog lamp.
- Remove the fog lamp to
front bumper fascia nuts.
- Remove the fog lamp from
the front bumper fascia.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fog lamp to
the front bumper fascia.

lamp to front bumper fascia nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the fog lamp to front bumper fascia nuts to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Connect the fog lamp electrical
connector to the fog lamp.
- Align the front fender liner to the front bumper fascia.
- Install the front bumper fascia to front fender liner screws.
Tighten
Tighten the front bumper fascia to front fender liner screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
