SEAT SIDE PANEL ESCUTCHEON CRACKED (REPLACE ESCUTCHEON)

MODELS/YEARS 1989 OLDSMOBILE TROFEOS

Some 1989 Trofeos may experience a condition of cracked seat side panel escutcheons. To repair this condition replace the black plastic escutcheons on both the driver and passenger seats with chrome escutcheons, P/N 17947696. Parts are currently available from GMSPO. Use the following repair procedure:

1. Pry the insert plate up from the escutcheon and peel back to access the two escutcheon screws.

2. Remove the two screws and black escutcheon.

3. Position the new chrome escutcheon and secure with two screws.

4. Position and apply the new insert plate, P/N 17973788 or 17973789, to the escutcheon.

Repeat steps 1-4 for the other seat.
