Some 1991-1992 Toronados and Trofeos may experience a condition where the CD audio volume will momentarily drop when the windshield wipers sweep or park. The condition may occur on vehicles built with the UlH audio system (integral radio/ equalizer/cassette and remote CD) and without the color CRT (-U68).
This condition may be caused by transient electrical signals entering the audio system causing a momentary drop in volume.
To repair the condition, send the remote CD player to an authorized AC-Delco repair shop and request that bulletin RD91TBA14 be performed. There is no approved on-vehicle repair.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
