Subject: | AWD Vibration On Acceleration And Turns |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Vibration or buzz in vehicle on moderate acceleration between about 30-60 MPH and on curves.
If an AWD Aztek has a vibration found to be a Third-Order tire and wheel vibration, it may be caused by excessive front drive axle angles only during moderate acceleration and cornering. Measure front suspension trim heights and compare to SI specification. It may be helpful to put a load on the hood or front of vehicle (oil-dry, salt, or sand bags might work) to test if lower trim height improves condition to determine what affects a softer spring may have. The stock springs may be a 5300 lb. spring (PN 22196625) and may be contributing to complaints due to their effective higher ride height. To improve the condition, replace both front springs with a softer 5000 lb rated unit, PN 8906180 (formerly 22196624) or a 4700 lb spring, PN 89060179 (formerly 22196623).
