Did you review the ALC System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

  1. Disconnect the air tube from the air dryer.
  2. Connect the air tube to the J 22124-B on the side opposite the toggle valve.
  3. Close the toggle valve.
  4. Apply service air pressure to J 22124-B service valve until the gauge reads 550 kPa (80 psi).
  5. Monitor the J 22124-B gauge pressure for 1 minute.

Does the system maintain pressure?

Go to Step 3

  1. Slowly release pressure from the system using the J 22124-B service valve.
  2. Disconnect the inflator solenoid connector.
  3. Connect a jumper wire from the inflater solenoid, terminal A to ground.
  4. Connect a 10 amp fused jumper wire from the inflater solenoid, terminal B to B+.
  5. Apply service air pressure to the J 22124-B service valve until the gauge reads 550 kPa (80 psi).

Does the air sleeve on either shock absorber inflate?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 4

Monitor the J 22124-B gauge pressure for 1 minute.

Does the pressure leak down within 1 minute?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 5

Depress the core of the inflator fill valve on the inflator control panel.

Does pressurized air release from the inflator fill valve?

System OK

Go to Step 10

  1. Apply service air to the J 22124-B service valve until the gauge reads 550 kPa (80 psi).
  2. Inspect the shock absorbers for air leakage using soapy water.

Did you find a leak?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 7

Inspect the inflator fill valve for air leakage using soapy water.

Did you find a leak?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 8

Inspect the air tubes and connections for air leakage using soapy water.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Replace the shock absorber. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement in Rear Suspension.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Replace the inflator solenoid. Refer to Inflator Solenoid Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
