Removal Procedure
Important: Use masking tape for protection of the paint and alignment marks for
alignment of the new wind deflector.
- Apply tape to area around
wind deflector.
- Mark the location of the wind deflector using a grease pencil.
- Using the J 25070
152 mm (6 in) from the surface, heat the wind deflector for
30 seconds using a circular motion.
Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing
an emblem/name plate.
- Remove the wind deflector from the roof using a small plastic flat-bladed
tool.
- Remove all adhesive from
the roof surface using 3M™ scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk
3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.
- Clean the roof surface using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP)
naphtha.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the wind deflector.
- Remove the protective liners from the wind deflector adhesive backing.
- Position the wind deflector to the alignment marks on the roof
surface.
- Working from the center to the ends of the wind deflector, push
down firmly to secure the wind deflector to the roof surface.
- Remove all tape and alignment marks from the roof surface.
