A revised procedure has been developed for replacing the oil filter adapter and/or gasket. The revised methods do not require the removal of the timing cover.
This bulletin contains complete procedures for servicing the oil filter adapter and/or gasket.
1. Raise car. 2. Right side engine splash shield. 3. 4 Adapter mounting bolts. 4. Adapter, oil filter and connector. 5. Old gasket.
Engine and adapter mounting surfaces
1. New adapter gasket. 2. Adapter with oil filter and connector. 3. 4 Adapter mounting bolts. - Tighten adapter bolts to 33 N.m (24 ft. lbs.). 4. Engine splash shield. 5. Lower car. 6. Engine oil as needed.
