Emblem/Nameplate Replacement 88/LSS

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 300692  Size: SH
  1. Wash affected panel area using soap and water.
  2. Wipe the area dry.
  3. Remove all traces of adhesive from the body panel using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984, or the equivalent.
  4. Wipe the panel using the following items:
  5. • A clean cloth
    • An alcohol/water mixture

Installation Procedure

  1. Use the dimensions in order to mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate. Use a length of masking tape or a magnetic strip.
  2. If the body panel is below 21°C (70°F) due to shop temperature or outside temperature, warm the body panel using one of the following items:
  3. • A heat lamp
    • A heat gun
  4. If necessary, apply to the emblem/nameplate a double-coated acrylic foam tape such as 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape, which has the following varieties:
  5. Use a tape that has

    • 3M 06380 with a white backing
    • 3M 06377 with a black backing
    • 3M 06382 with a gray backing
  6. Align the emblem/nameplate.
  7. Press the emblem/nameplate firmly in place in order to ensure proper adhesion.

Emblem/Nameplate Replacement Bonneville

Removal Procedure

  1. Wash affected panel area using soap and water.
  2. Wipe the area dry.
  3. Remove all traces of adhesive from the body panel using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or the equivalent.
  4. Wipe the panel using a clean cloth and a alcohol/water mixture.

Installation Procedure

  1. Use the dimensions in order to mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate using a length of masking tape or magnetic strip.
  2. If the body panel is below 21°C (70°F) due to shop temperature or outside temperature, warm the body panel using one of the following items:

  4. If necessary, apply to the emblem/nameplate a double-coated acrylic foam tape such as 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape, which has the following varieties:

  6. Align the emblem/nameplate.
