Condition
Some customers may comment that the rear of the vehicle appears to be visibly lower when loaded. In addition, the Electronic Level Control System (ELC) does not automatically adjust the vehicle level as the rear load changes.
Cause
This condition may be due to a unique software issue within the Rear Integration Module (RIM) Assembly.
Correction
Important: Prior to replacing the RIM, refer to BCM Programming/RPO Configuration RIM in the Body Control System sub-section of the Service Manual.
Identify the part number of the existing Rear Integration Module (RIM) using a scan tool. Refer to Rear Integration Module Scan Tool Data List in the Body Control System sub-section of the Service Manual.
| • | If the RIM P/N is NOT 25740048, remove the existing RIM and install P/N 25740048. Verify that the ELC System is operating properly. |
| • | If the RIM P/N is 25740048, DO NOT replace the RIM. Perform the ELC system standard diagnostic procedures found in the applicable Service Manual. |
