Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Important:: The sun load sensor assembly must indicate low light conditions for the courtesy lamps to operate.

  1. Cover the sun load sensor assembly.
  2. Observe the ignition key cylinder lamp.
  3. Open a door.
  4. Close the door.
  5. Wait more than 25 seconds.

Does the ignition key cylinder lamp operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Always On and Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

Test the key cylinder lamp control circuit of the ignition key cylinder lamp for short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument panel module (IPM) with CJ2 or the HVAC control module (CCP) with C67. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Important:: After replacement, perform the setup procedure for the IPM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Replace the IPM with CJ2 or HVAC control module (CCP) with C67. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System or HVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.

Did you complete the replacement?
